Improved outcomes with cyanoacrylate glue for ileocolic anastomosis in right colectomy: a multicenter study

In a multi-center study, using Glubran 2, a surgical glue, to reinforce colon connections after surgery, the rate of leaks decreased significantly. While the results are positive, the lack of a control group makes it hard to definitively say the glue is the only reason for the improvement. Further research with control groups is needed to strengthen the findings.

The duodenal window approach to pancreatoduodenectomy

This paper describes a new "duodenal-window-first" approach to pancreatic surgery (pancreatoduodenectomy). The authors present a case series of 15 patients who underwent this procedure and report no specific complications, although one patient died of unrelated causes post-operatively. Further clinical studies with a larger sample size are needed to validate the technique and compare it to existing methods.

Clinical applications of stem cell-derived exosomes

This review summarizes the therapeutic potential of stem cell-derived exosomes in various surgical fields, highlighting their advantages over traditional stem cell therapy and their mechanism of action through tissue-specific responses and cellular signaling pathways. It also discusses the production, modification, characterization, and storage of exosomes, emphasizing their potential as a safe and versatile alternative for managing surgical conditions.

Epidemiology, classification, treatment and mortality of distal radius fractures in adults: an observational study of 23,394 fractures from the national Swedish fracture register

Distal radius fractures (DRFs) predominantly affect elderly women (≥50 years) due to low-energy simple falls, often occurring at home. Most DRFs are extra-articular and treated non-surgically, but surgical treatment is increasing, especially for intra-articular fractures, with plate fixation being the most common method.
