By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and Authority
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company, institution, or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and "you" includes that entity.
3. The Service
Paperzilla collects newly published research papers and filters and enhances them according to a user's stated research interests and preferences.
The Service may include features that use statistical methods, machine learning, or other automated techniques to rank, summarize, tag, classify, or otherwise enhance research information. Outputs and rankings are not guaranteed to be correct or complete.
4. Accounts and Security
You may need to create an account to access the Service. You agree to:
• provide accurate and current information,
• maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials,
• promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
5. User Inputs and Your Responsibilities
5.1 What you provide
Currently, Paperzilla does not require you to upload documents. You may provide:
• account information (like email),
• research interests and preferences, and
• feedback or support requests.
5.2 Your responsibilities
You agree that you will not provide information you do not have the right to provide, and you will comply with applicable laws when using the Service.
6. Research Content and Third-Party Materials
6.1 Third-party ownership
Research papers, abstracts, figures, and other publication materials ("Research Content") are generally owned by their respective authors, publishers, or rights holders. Paperzilla is not affiliated with those rights holders unless explicitly stated.
6.2 Links and access
The Service may link to third-party sites or sources. Your access to, or use of, third-party materials is governed by the applicable third party's terms, licenses, and policies. Paperzilla is not responsible for third-party content, sites, or availability.
6.3 No guarantee of completeness
Paper coverage, freshness, and metadata completeness can vary by source. We do not guarantee that the Service includes all publications or that any publication will appear in your feed.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
1. Use the Service in violation of any law or regulation.
2. Interfere with or disrupt the Service (including probing, scanning, or testing vulnerabilities without permission).
3. Upload or transmit malware or harmful code.
4. Attempt to access another user's account or non-public areas of the Service.
5. Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code or underlying systems except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law.
6. Use any automated means to access the Service or collect content from it (including scraping, crawling, or harvesting) except as explicitly allowed by Paperzilla in writing.
7. Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or restrictions.
8. Use the Service to create a competing database by systematically extracting or copying Service outputs at scale.
We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms.
8. Plans, Billing, Trials, and Refunds
8.1 Paid plans; subscription + usage-based fees
Paperzilla offers paid plans that may include a flat subscription fee plus usage-based charges (for example, based on volume of processing, seats, or other measured usage as displayed in the product or order flow).
Pricing and plan details are shown at checkout, within the Service, or in an order form.
8.2 Payment processor
Payments are processed via Stripe. By purchasing a paid plan, you authorize Paperzilla and Stripe to charge your payment method for applicable fees, taxes, and charges.
8.3 Free trial and auto-conversion
If you start a 7-day free trial, your trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends. If you do not want to be charged, you must cancel before the trial ends.
8.4 Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel through the Service (if available) or by contacting hello@paperzilla.ai. Unless otherwise stated, cancellation stops renewal; it does not retroactively refund fees already paid (subject to the refund policy below and any rights required by law).
8.5 Refund policy (7 days)
If you are charged for a new paid subscription, you may request a refund of the subscription fee within 7 days of the initial charge by emailing hello@paperzilla.ai from the account email address.
To keep things unambiguous with mixed billing:
• Usage-based charges incurred (if any) are non-refundable, unless required by law.
• Refunds may be denied in cases of fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Our IP
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and all related intellectual property rights, is owned by Paperzilla or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws.

9.3 Feedback
If you provide feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant Paperzilla a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or compensation.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge our privacy practices.
11. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access:

Upon termination, your right to use the Service stops immediately.

You are responsible for how you use information provided by the Service.
13. Limitation of Liability

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in such jurisdictions, liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting updated Terms on the Site and updating the "Last Updated" date (and, where appropriate, by email or in-product notice). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
