Assessment of the heavy metal bioremediation efficiency of the novel marine lactic acid bacterium, Lactobacillus plantarum MF042018
Lactobacillus plantarum MF042018, a novel marine lactic acid bacterium, exhibits high tolerance to nickel and chromium and effectively removes them from aqueous solutions. The study also demonstrates its capacity for cadmium and lead biosorption, with optimal removal achieved at acidic pH and low temperature (22°C), fitting the Langmuir isotherm model.
