The Virtual Lab: Al Agents Design New SARS-CoV-2 Nanobodies with Experimental Validation

Researchers used an AI-driven “Virtual Lab” to design nanobodies against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Out of 92 computationally designed nanobodies, two showed promising binding profiles to newer variants in initial ELISA binding assays, suggesting potential for further development. Further validation is needed to confirm the efficacy of these nanobodies in a biological context and assess the Virtual Lab's broader applicability.

Preparation, characterization and therapeutic properties of gum arabic-stabilized gallic acid nanoparticles

Gallic acid nanoparticles stabilized with gum arabic (GANPs) demonstrated potent antioxidant and anti-cancer properties in vitro. GANPs showed enhanced cellular uptake and cytotoxicity in specific cancer cell lines, especially hepatocellular and breast cancer cells, while exhibiting low toxicity in normal cells, suggesting potential for targeted cancer therapy.

Anti-cancer effect of gallic acid in presence of low level laser irradiation: ROS production and induction of apoptosis and ferroptosis

Gallic acid combined with low-level laser irradiation showed increased anticancer effects against breast and melanoma cancer cells in vitro compared to gallic acid alone. This synergistic effect might involve increased ROS production, decreased GPX4 activity, and enhanced lipid peroxidation, suggesting contributions from apoptosis and ferroptosis pathways.
